Environmental, economic and social sustainability

Sustainability

Much more than a wonderful place to meet on Lake Garda; Riva del Garda is a setting that reconciles work and its hectic pace with the space and time to enable you to consciously live and breathe.

The DNA of our sustainable events destination

1
Environment and well-being
According to neuroscience studies, being surrounded by beautiful scenery promotes productivity, inspiration, relaxation and energy.

2
Planet at the centre
When selecting the activities and partners we work with, we ensure they comply with our principles of sustainability.

3
Meaningful relationships
A stroll from the hotel to the Congress Centre, a lunch break by the lake or, for the more sporty, outdoor activities: in Riva del Garda, networking is also sustainable and forges significant relationships.

4
We are an ecosystem
Our philosophy is to go beyond the specific event: we see the spaces, partnerships with local authorities and the organisation of activities as a large ecosystem.

5
Time to yourself
Events unfold at a frenetic pace, which is why it is important to take time out and enjoy a few moments before, during and after, giving you space to rest and recharge.

Environmental, economic and social sustainability

Riva del Garda aspires to become an international benchmark in terms of environmental sustainability. The Congress Centre was among the first in Italy to receive ISO 2021 certification for Event Sustainability Management Systems, an international protocol whose guidelines have helped harmonise events with the environment, economy and the local community.

The objective for the future is to become a B Corp: the true essence of Riva del Garda is contained in the respect and protection of the natural beauty that surrounds it, in the well-being of guests and the local community. And the Congress Centre is committed to playing its part in preserving its main asset, the region that hosts it.

Sustainability in practice

The Congress Centre's commitment is implemented through these actions:

- a sustainable mobility offer (shared shuttles to/from airports and railway stations, bicycle rental, selection of hotels within walking distance from the conference venue)
- plastic-free events, with water dispensers to encourage the use of flasks and biodegradable products at catering outlets and vending machines
- paperless events thanks to digital media such as TV screens, totems, directional displays
- catering with ingredients from short supply chains (70% local produce, 3 slow food outlets)
- design and construction of green exhibition areas
- direct offsets to make up for the energy used by events
- leftover food put to good use through the Food for Good project
- use of Ecolabel-branded products
- use of certified green energy and district heating
- separate waste collection
